Day 2: Chengdu - Maobiliang Viewing Platform - Shuangqiao Valley (Mount Sigunian) - Jiaju Tibetan Village

In this morning, your group will depart from your hotel in Chengdu. Our guide and driver will take you to travel through Dujiangyan City and the Zipingpu Water Conservancy Project to Yingxiu, where you can view earthquake ruins and reflect on nature’s power. Continue to Gengda Township, enjoying stunning canyon scenery along the way.

Cross Balang Mountain, which offers breathtaking seasonal views of seas of clouds, blooming azaleas, rhododendrons, and alpine meadows. Stop at the Maobiliang Viewing Platform to capture a panoramic view of Mount Siguniang (Four Sisters Mountain) before heading to Shuangqiao Valley.
Take a scenic shuttle bus into Shuangqiaogou, renowned for its snow peaks, meadows, forests, and grasslands. The valley, stretching over 40 kilometers, is divided into three sections: the Front Section (Yinyang Valley, Wuse Mountain), the Middle Section (Nianyu Dam, Seabuckthorn Forest), and the Rear Section (Niupengzi Meadow, Changhetan). Surrounded by over a dozen snow-capped peaks towering above 4,000 meters, Shuangqiaogou offers spectacular 360° views of nature’s grandeur.

Day 3: Jiaju Tibetan Village - Yala Snow Mountain Viewing Platform - Mosi Park - Lake Kasa - Ganzi

After breakfast, depart from Jiaju Tibetan Village and travel through Danba’s Yak Valley, often referred to as a "natural bonsai." The steep cliffs on both sides of the canyon are breathtaking, with a swiftly flowing river below. Crossing Gada Liangzi, you’ll enjoy a distant view of the 5820-meter Yala Snow Mountain before continuing your journey to the unique landscape of western Sichuan - Moshi Park.

Moshi Park offers something special in every season: "spring for blooming Gesang flowers, summer for cool retreats, autumn for colorful forests, and winter for snowy landscapes." Start by taking in a panoramic view of the park from above, then descend along wooden paths to explore the dramatic stone formations up close. The towering black rocks beside the trails are strikingly unique and provide excellent spots for portrait photography.
Continue driving and take in the beautiful natural scenery along the way before arriving at a hidden gem - Kasa Lake. This alpine freshwater lake is the largest waterbird habitat in northwest Sichuan. It is not only a stunning natural destination but is also surrounded by cultural relics that bear witness to the region’s historical evolution.
Tonight, you will stay in Ganzi County.

Day 4: Ganzi - Xinluhai Lake (Yulong Lhatso) - Dege Printing House - Jomda

After breakfast, your group will have unforgettable journey along the G317 National Highway. Your first stop will be Manigango Town, a quaint village that sets the stage for the natural beauty ahead. From there, continue to Yulong Lacuo (Xinlu Hai), a mesmerizing alpine lake surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Be prepared to immerse yourself in a stunning panorama of blue skies, fluffy white clouds, majestic snow-capped peaks, sparkling glaciers, lush green mountains, vibrant grassy meadows, and crystal-clear waters.
After exploring the enchanting beauty of Yulong Lacuo, your journey continues through the Que’er Mountain Tunnel, the highest mountain tunnel along the Sichuan-Tibet route. Marvel at this engineering marvel as you emerge on the other side to descend into Dege County, a place rich in cultural heritage.
In Dege, you’ll visit the famous Dege Printing House, a must-see cultural landmark often called the "Encyclopedia of Tibetan Culture", the "Cultural Pearl of Tibetan Regions", and the "Treasure of the Snow Mountains". This historic site is the birthplace of numerous Tibetan scriptures, prayer flags, and sacred texts. Witness the preservation of ancient woodblock printing techniques, which are still in practice today, offering a rare glimpse into Tibet's spiritual and artistic traditions.
Following your visit to the Dege Printing House, resume your journey along the G317 National Highway until you arrive at the banks of the Jinsha River, a natural wonder that serves as the boundary between Sichuan and Tibet. Cross the Jinsha River Bridge to officially enter the Chamdo region of Tibet.
Today, check in to a comfortable hotel in Jomda County.
Special Notes: If you are particularly fascinated by the history and artistry of the Dege Printing House, you have the option to hire a private guide for a more in-depth experience. The cost is approximately 100 RMB per session (subject to the official pricing at the attraction).

Day 5: Jomda - Chamdo Gamagou Valley (Thangka Painting Experience)

After breakfast, leave Jomda County and embark on a scenic drive along the G317 Highway for approximately 3.5 hours. Then, take a right turn onto the picturesque Y507 road, a hidden gem known for its breathtaking landscapes and tranquility, far removed from the tourist crowds. This single fork in the road divides two entirely different worlds: one bustling with activity and vehicles, and the other peaceful, untouched, and rarely explored.
Follow the emerald-green Zhaqu River as it winds through awe-inspiring canyons, offering stunning views at every turn. Along the way, you’ll encounter a unique mountain peak shaped like an open palm, affectionately called “Palm Mountain” by locals. Feel free to stop for a photo with this remarkable natural landmark - it’s the perfect opportunity to capture the beauty of the moment.
As you continue your relaxed and scenic journey, you’ll arrive around noon at Gamagou Valley, an untouched treasure in eastern Tibet that 99.9% of travelers have yet to discover.
Thanks to its historical connections, Gamagou Valley is home to the descendants of highly skilled artisans from Nepal, India, Sikkim, Lhasa, and inland China. This rich heritage has earned it the titles of "Hometown of Craftsmen" and "Hometown of Thangka Art". To immerse you in this unique cultural legacy, we’ve invited a master Thangka artist to guide you in creating your very own Thangka painting. This hands-on activity offers a rare chance to connect with Tibetan culture and experience its timeless artistic traditions.
In this evening, enjoy a delicious Tibetan-style dinner, specially prepared to round off your day of cultural and scenic immersion.

From there, cross Zhujue La Mountain and arrive at Enda Village in Binda Township to visit the Enda Battle Site, a historic and culturally significant landmark.
After exploring this important site, continue your journey and ascend the Xiega La Mountain Pass (elevation 4,652 meters). Here, you’ll arrive at the sacred Naicham Mani Stone Mound, also known as the "Sacred Land of Multicolored Flowers." This remarkable site is believed to be one of the oldest and largest Mani mounds on the Tibetan Plateau. For centuries, Tibetan pilgrims passing through have added stones engraved with Buddhist scriptures and images, creating a massive and awe-inspiring display of devotion.
After your visit to this sacred site, proceed to Dengqen County. Stay overnight here.

Day 7: Dengqen - Zizhu Temple - Baqen

After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to Zizhu Temple, perched high on Zizhu Mountain in Juen Township, Dingqing County, Chamdo Prefecture, Tibet. Located approximately 37 kilometers from Dingqing County, this stunning monastery is nestled among rugged peaks, sharp cliffs, and jagged rock formations. Often referred to as a "Sky City," it has stood in serene solitude for over a thousand years and is an important site for studying the ancient Bon religion of Tibet.
After taking time to explore and photograph this awe-inspiring location, depart Dingqing and continue your journey through the Xiela Mountain Tunnel. If the weather is clear, enjoy spectacular views of the distant, majestic Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain.

Day 8: Baqen - Nagqu - Damxung

Perched along the mountainside, Zandan Monastery features two distinct architectural clusters: one red and one white. From afar, the monastery’s design closely resembles the iconic Potala Palace. As the oldest Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) monastery in northern Tibet and the largest ancient Buddhist architectural complex in the region, Zandan Monastery is a treasure trove of cultural and artistic heritage. Inside, you will find an impressive collection of murals, Tibetan scriptures, and engraved texts, all of immense historical and artistic value.
Following your visit, continue your journey and immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the Northern Tibetan Grasslands. Day 9: Damxung - Namtso Lake - Lhasa

After breakfast, depart from Damxung County and head toward the sacred Namtso Lake. After an 8-kilometer drive, the entrance gate to the Namtso Scenic Area will come into view. Take a moment to capture a memorable photo with the gate as your backdrop - a perfect way to commemorate your visit to this remarkable destination.
Beyond the gate, your journey continues as you ascend Nagenla Mountain, located about 60 kilometers from Namtso. Once you cross the mountain pass, the stunning silhouette of Namtso Lake will gradually appear before you. Famous for its crystal-clear waters and sky-blue surface, Namtso is deeply revered in Tibetan culture. In Tibetan, "Namtso" means "Heavenly Lake", and it is one of the three sacred lakes of Tibet.
Take your time to soak in the breathtaking natural beauty of this spiritual wonderland before proceeding to Lhasa. Check into your hotel.
After settling in, enjoy some free time to explore the streets of Lhasa. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere as you walk among locals, pilgrims, and travelers from around the world. The city’s unique cultural diversity offers a truly enriching experience.
For photography enthusiasts, don’t miss the opportunity to capture the majestic Potala Palace. The Potala Palace Square and the Yaowang Mountain Viewing Platform are the best spots for photographing the palace, especially its spectacular night views.

Day 10: Lhasa Classic Tour | Potala Palace - Jokhang Temple - Barkhor Street

After breakfast, your group will visit the iconic Potala Palace, a must-see landmark of Tibet. Perched atop Marpori Hill in the northwest of Lhasa, the Potala Palace is the highest-altitude palace in the world and a masterpiece that combines the functions of a palace, fortress, and monastery. It is also the largest and most well-preserved ancient palace complex in Tibet.
Built along the slopes of the mountain, the Potala Palace rises 13 stories high, standing at an impressive 117.19 meters tall and stretching over 400 meters in length from east to west. The palace is divided into two main sections: the White Palace, which served as the administrative and living quarters, and the Red Palace, which houses chapels, shrines, and monks' assembly halls. Each section has its own unique history and cultural significance.
Next, proceed to the Jokhang Temple, located in the heart of Lhasa’s old city. With a history spanning 1,350 years, Jokhang Temple is the most magnificent surviving structure from the Tubo period and is considered the spiritual center of Tibet. Constructed in 647 CE, the temple features five golden rooftops and 108 Buddha halls. As a local saying goes: “First there was Jokhang Temple, then the city of Lhasa”. Jokhang Temple is not only the geographical center of Lhasa but also its cultural and social heart. Surrounding the central Shakyamuni Buddha Hall are three sacred circumambulation routes:
1.Nangkhor - The innermost route located inside the temple.
2.Barkhor - The middle route, which circles the temple’s outer walls.
3.Lingkhor - The largest route, radiating outward and encompassing the Potala Palace, Yaowang Mountain, and Ramoche Temple.
The streets surrounding Jokhang Temple are known as Barkhor Street, often referred to as the "Eight-Cornered Street." This vibrant and bustling area is a hub of activity, filled with shops, pilgrims, and a mix of cultural influences. It is also a sacred site for Tibetan pilgrims, who perform their kora (circumambulation) along these routes as part of their spiritual practice.

Day 11: Lhasa Departure | Check-out & See-off

After breakfast, pack your belongings. If your return flight is scheduled for the afternoon or evening, you can leave your luggage at the hotel and enjoy some free time exploring the charming streets of Lhasa.
